Right from when we were first in business, our work was fuelled by our unashamed coffee habit – and not just for its welcome inspirational qualities!
Our business model has been to have lower financial risks, and be more flexible for clients and for our team members, by the simple expedient of not having business premises. Of course, that is fashionable now, but not so much when we were the new kids on the block.
That means we are grateful for the endless parade of cafes where we have found a dizzying array of different types of great coffee in Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Timor Leste, the UK, Italy, and elsewhere. They have, over the years, been the scene for many a discussion to get to the bottom of a problem and find a way to overcome it.
Being a boutique management consultancy, part of our schtick is to learn and share that with clients. All that coffee has inspired us to learn that the same “big issue” is being faced by multiple clients. Commercial, government, or a nonprofit, enterprise – the organisations all have unique characteristics but the challenges often have more similarities than differences. Our focus on organisational robustness, good governance, sustainable enterprise and complex problem solving, with a jigger of original research when needed for the problem at hand, means that we can put those learnings to work in almost any environment.
So while you’re here, we’ll shout you a virtual hit while you take five and skim some headlines – as you browse, think up a hard question that you could put to us over a real world coffee, and we’ll shout you one of those too!
