Carolyn has an eclectic combination of experience in both the public and private sectors, for profit and not-for-profit organisations of diverse sizes, privately-held and publicly-traded corporations and in the academic environment.
She has operational and general management experience, and exposure to both sides of the Board table – as a manager and as a director – in her full time roles as well as in her additional pursuits.
In March 2019, Carolyn was awarded a PhD from UNSW, based on her thesis entitled Towards a more accountable United Nations Security Council – why, to whom, for what, and how.
Her research originated in her long-standing focus on governance questions, and was undertaken at the Faculty of Law, University of New South Wales (Sydney), with a full scholarship from the Australian Government Research Training Program (formerly the Australian Postgraduate Awards), and a further scholarship from the UNSW Law. Both were continued for the maximum period of 3.5 years.
Carolyn’s book based on her doctoral thesis was published in February 2021 by Brill | Nijhoff.
