With the Australia Day holiday nearly gone for another year, workplaces of Australia are leaving behind the summer break and getting back into gear for the year ahead.
To start some thoughts on the governance task ahead for all our colleagues on boards and in senior exec teams, its our shout for the virtual coffee and a wee smörgåsbord of short readings to go with it. So whet your intellectual appetite for 2018 with these short pieces on key aspects of governance:
- what the task is for a board, and, just as importantly, who sets it
- having the wherewithal to get the job done, by
- finding ideas by embracing dissent
- using them well by understanding consensus
- and then actually making decisions
- how it looks to the world afterwards
Each is a post or a short paper on related ideas, distilled from years of practical work with boards and senior teams that gives us our take on the board’s work, tempered by where the board remit originates.
There is plenty more where those came from – after all, we are consultants! – so if you have another burning topic for your board or senior team, let us know.
